Thursday, May 7, 2015 will be the inaugural E.J. Tegner “Let’s Bet on Youth” Golf Tournament. E.J. Tegner was an avid golfer and his love of the sport will live on with the foundation. “I know E.J. would want to impact and improve the lives of youth through access and education in golf,” says Marilyn Wood, whom seeded the fund with an initial $100.000 in memory of her late husband.
“It’s tremendously gratifying to be part of the team who created the E.J Tegner – Let’s Bet on Youth Golf Foundation. The one year fund raising goal of $20,000, and the five year effort to double the $100,000 gift from Marilyn Tegner, will generate almost $10,000 in annual giving for our kids and young adults. Making a difference in their lives is what really matters most!”, quotes longtime friend Kevin Murphy.
“EJ enjoyed life to its fullest. A big part was to compete with his fellow golfers with a friendly wager. From his love of wagering, “Let’s Bet” became his nickname in our Wednesday Tahoe Players Group” adds Brian McGeever.
On May 7th, a fun day is planned with 18 holes of golf, longest drive, closes to the pin and putting contest. It will be held at Old Greenwood Golf Course. The format is four person, two net better ball. Cost is $400 per team and/or $100 per person. No handicap is required.
